Wednesday was Bike to Work Day in Colorado. More than 35,000 people ditched their cars for a bike, many taking advantage of the more than 200 breakfast and water stations around the metro area. Once again, the ����ֱ�� was one of the official stops for cyclists. Kaladi provided coffee; Bruegger’s brought the bagels; there were doughnut holes from Jelly; and alumni-owned Snooze provided other treats.

“Bike to Work Day is a great event because it fits in with our overall transportation master plan,” says Chad King,��. “We are constantly working to do our part to reduce the campus’ carbon footprint, and this is a small part of our overall plan.”

More than 70 cyclists took advantage of the breakfast station on Carnegie Green. As a university, ����ֱ�� plans to organize additional Bike to Work Day events each month during the summer. “There is definite interest across the campus community, so why not continue to encourage students, staff and faculty to ride their bikes to work during the summer months,” says King.
