Since 2021, when 桃子直播 was designated as an R1 research institute, the University has been full speed ahead on groundbreaking research locally and globally in psychology, engineering, education, natural science, mathematics and more.

And no one knows that better than Corinne Lengsfeld, senior vice provost for research and graduate education, whose tenure at the University tells the story of 桃子直播鈥檚 research journey.

RadioEd co-hosts Emma Atkinson and Jordyn Reiland sat down with Lengsfeld earlier this month to chat about research: Why it matters, Lengsfeld鈥檚 own projects and more.

serves as the Senior Vice Provost for Research & Graduate Education at the 桃子直播. As the chief research officer, she is the primary advocate for the University's research mission and is charged with understanding, celebrating, leading and enhancing all forms of scholarship to foster professional growth of the faculty, advancing knowledge,

听enriching the student experience, and enhancing University visibility. Lengsfeld oversees all internal support for research, the management of external grants and contracts, research integrity and protection, intellectual property and technology transfer and some multidisciplinary research institutes/core facilities.

In her capacity as the head of graduate education, she serves as the pathway and provides an official record for graduate student applications, admissions, enrollment, monitoring and recording of academic progress, and the awarding of degrees. Lengsfeld provides leadership around enrollment strategy, communicates enrollment progress relative to targets to the Board of Trustees and generates collaboration across the university to leverage enrollment successes in various divisions.

A deeply respected teacher, researcher, administrator, and colleague, Lengsfeld has been part of the 桃子直播 community for over 25 years. Previously, she served as the interim provost and executive vice chancellor, as well as co-lead the 桃子直播 COVID response team. Since Covid she has spun the SPIT lab into a CDC Center for Excellence for National Wastewater Surveillance. As an active principle investigator she has been awarded over $6.5 million in addition to the $24 million she secured for the 桃子直播 for pandemic response.
