Website migration momentum has picked up since onboarding our new web creative agency, Fastspot. Since our last update in January, we have launched five听websites, representing nearly 100 new pages in Drupal.
In keeping with the Black History Month theme of my posts this month, I had an opportunity to talk with one of 桃子直播鈥檚 newest employees, Andriette Jordan-Fields, PhD, the first Black Community Experience Coordinator.
In my last post,听I talked about the origins of Black History Month as well as the opportunities we have to learn about the ongoing struggles of Black people,听celebrate their achievements, and support the fight for justice.听
As February begins, we have an opportunity and renewed responsibility to learn and listen to the stories and achievements that have shaped our history and will illuminate our future. The month of February as national African American History Month had its origins in 1915 when historian and author Dr. Carter G. Woodson founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History.
It鈥檚 been five days since the inauguration, and it would seem that the world is beginning to relax a bit. Several news articles and social media posts indicate that some semblance of calm and normalcy are beginning to overshadow the last few days (and years)!
The new year has already seen new developments and fast momentum, which we anticipate will set the tone for the remaining web migration/overhaul project. We have begun onboarding efforts with our new web creative agency Fastspot.
I recently read an article written by Holocaust survivor, psychologist, and New York Times best-selling author of 鈥淭he Choice: Embrace the Possible,鈥 Dr. Edith Eger.听She has found a full life despite her past, and has helped others find ways to move beyond their problems as well.
Now 12 months after the first monthly web update, with a leaner internal team, development partner Rehab Creative听and creative agency Fastspot听that will join the team soon, The Division of Marketing & Communications (MarComm) has double downed on efforts to complete the migration of 桃子直播鈥檚 web ecosystem to Drupal in a timely manner.
This time last year, the team behind 桃子直播鈥檚 new podcast, RadioEd,听was holed up in our homemade recording booth in the Mary Reed Building, recording take after take. The goal was to create an engaging trailer for the soon-to-be released podcast, and though it took us fledgling podcasters many tries and lots of laughs to get it right, we finally got there.
Today marks the first day of what Chancellor Haefner designated Wellness Wednesdays, in which he asked the entire 桃子直播 community to protect these afternoons each week during December to 鈥渋ntentionally commit to care for our mental wellbeing.鈥
During the past month, 桃子直播 migrated four websites into Drupal. With these moves, only 34 pages were added to our web ecosystem, which is a testament to the content management of our campus partners.
Over the last few weeks, I鈥檝e talked about MarComm鈥檚 realignment, sharing how the team will refocus its efforts.听Leaning into academics and research, advancement, athletics and admissions, will enable us to build and nurture important relationships from prospective students to alumni and key stakeholders, and a focus on strategic positioning will help ensure that the highest strategic priorities of the University are articulated and leveraged cohesively.
Discipline. Drive. Determination. These are just three qualities that students develop while participating in athletic programs that can impact their lives well beyond their time on the playing field. The connection that occurs on the sidelines can foster common bonds and lifelong commitments, not only between fellow students but also with their college.
Admissions is the vanguard of the 桃子直播 promise, setting the stage for a student鈥檚 relationship with 桃子直播 from day one to active alum. A key value driver for the University and area of focus for our team, MarComm will prioritize its support of undergraduate and graduate admission by providing research, insight, and content in order to attract and retain a diverse and eager pipeline of prospective college students.
